Shopping:
Aventura Mall
19501 Biscayne Blvd, Aventura, FL 33180-2342 ·
305-935-1110
AVENTURA. A true shopper's paradise with more than 240
high-end shops and a 24-screen AMC theater, Aventura
Mall is one of North Dade's premier shopping
destinations. Architects eschewed the "contemporary"
mall plan when they designed this open-air gem, whose
red wrought-iron gates, plush tropical greenery, and
SoBe-meets-Bourbon Street features make it as
aesthetically pleasing as it is practical and
accessible. Anchor stores include Bloomingdale's,
Macy's, and JC Penney.
Bal Harbour Shops
9700 Collins Ave, Miami Beach, FL 33154 · 305-866-0311
BAL HARBOUR. This top shopping destination is known
around the country for its quality, variety, and most of
all, for its style. Each exclusive boutique holds
numerous treasures that will transform your wardrobe.
Shops include everything from national favorites like
Banana Republic, Gap, and Gap Kids to some of the finest
designer names, including Gianni Versace, Gucci, St.
John and Prada. Beautiful gifts are available at fine
stores such as Tiffany & Co. and Bulgari. There are
plenty of upscale dining options as well as casual
outdoor eateries.
Bayside Marketplace
401 Biscayne Blvd, Miami, FL 33132 · 305-577-3344
BISCAYNE BAY. Overlooking the magnificent Biscayne Bay
in downtown Miami, this vast shopping complex offers a
wealth of boutiques for men, women, and children of all
ages. More than 150 shops are conveniently housed in an
upscale, attractive shopping environment. Favorites
include Gap, Guess, and Wilson's Leather. When your
shopping is complete, entertainment, nightlife, and
dining choices abound, with options such as Miami's Hard
Rock Cafe and a spacious international food court.
Performers often take the stage in the numerous plazas
built into the marketplace, and you can even take a boat
tour for great views of the bay.
Coconut Grove
Miami, FL 33133 · 305-444-0777
COCONUT GROVE. This city has been around a lot longer
than most places in greater Miami. A number of early
settlers made the area their home, and today it boasts a
huge multi-level complex with shops, restaurants, and
sizzling nightlife. "The Grove" is a popular destination
for tourists and locals alike, who come to enjoy the
ongoing leisure-time options, including busy CocoWalk
Mall, Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, and a multitude of
festivals and waterfront parks. Trendy, hip, and
diverse.
Coral Gables
Coral Gables, FL 33134
CORAL GABLES. Lovely Coral Gables, originally developed
by George Merrick in 1925, is so picturesque that it's
been nicknamed "The City Beautiful." Streets like De
Soto Boulevard are adorned with classy fountains, and
the luxurious Biltmore Hotel, which Merrick helped
establish, is a landmark. Today, the neighborhood
shelters many different cultures, not to mention unique
sights and Mediterranean architecture. In addition, it
offers some of Miami's most exclusive retail venues; the
Miracle Mile, in particular, hosts countless high-end
specialty shops, clothing boutiques, and art galleries.
Dadeland Mall
7535 N Kendall Dr, Kendall, FL 33156-7704 · 305-665-6226
KENDALL. With anchor stores like Saks, JCPenney, and
Macy's, it's easy to see why this Dade County mall
attracts the wide range of shoppers it does. One of
Florida's oldest enclosed shopping centers (it's 30-plus
years old now), Dadeland has undergone extensive
renovations, giving it a more aesthetically pleasing
appearance with wide, tree-lined common areas and an
abundance of natural light. In addition to the anchors,
Dadeland also offers a wide array of specialty options
like Abercrombie & Fitch, Banana Republic, Disney Store,
Guess, and the country's largest Express.
Design District
NE 40th St, Miami, FL 33137
DESIGN DISTRICT. In the Design District, new trends are
being set every day. The neighborhood is a
conglomeration of design outlets, art galleries, home
decor stores, antique shops, restaurants and clubs. In
recent years, the city's creative contingent has
migrated here, and it's becoming a popular tourist
destination. Stores devoted to design and architecture
occupy warehouse-like fronts in an area between North
Miami Avenue and North Second Avenue. Although the
district covers just a few blocks, it offers a wealth of
shopping and design opportunities.
Dolphin Mall
11401 NW 12 St, Miami, FL 33172 · 305-365-7446
WEST DADE. Convenient to both the downtown area and
Miami International Airport, this is one of the Miami
area's newest and most modern shopping centers. From Old
Navy and Bath & Body Works, the Dolphin offers a wide
range of specialty shops. Anchor stores for the mall
include Marshall's, Saks Outlet, and Linens and Things.
Among the mall's many amenities are a Dave and Busters
sports bar, a 19-screen megaplex with stadium seating,
and live entertainment in the main courtyard on Fridays.
Lincoln Road
Miami Beach, FL 33139
SOUTH BEACH. Where the trendy and fashionable shop. At
this upscale, open-air mall off Collins Avenue at 17th
Street, you'll find some of the most exclusive shops of
South Beach. Many of the top art galleries and specialty
stores are located here, but most browsers are here to
see and be seen. There is a mixed and diverse crowd -
it's not unusual to find people dressed "to the nines"
being passed by inline skaters. You'll also find some of
the most outstanding dining choices in the area, along
with plenty of thriving nightlife options.
The Falls
8888 SW 136 St, Miami, FL 33176-5883 · 305-255-4570
SOUTH MIAMI. This attractive mall features wood plank
walkways, lush greenery, and a series of flower-lined
tropical lagoons and waterfalls. An open-air complex,
the Falls offers such popular retail names as Pottery
Barn, Restoration Hardware, Bloomingdale's, Macy's, and
Ann Taylor. While the Falls does not have a food court,
appetites may still be satiated by the likes of Johnny
Rockets, Häagen Dazs, and T.G.I. Friday's.
